Installation – Custom Wine Cellar Cooling Units California

Arctic Metalworks is composed of experts that boasts comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience in designing, installing, and maintaining state-of-the-art custom wine cellar cooling units designed to fit your cellar’s unique specifications.

We partnered with Coastal Custom Wine Cellars for this new installation of a wine cellar cooling system. The residence is located in Coto de Caza , Orange County, California. We show how to make cooling units for wine cellars effective, quiet & unobtrusive.

Orange County Split Cooling System for Home with Style

For this project we installed a split system.  This means the condenser was installed unobtrusively outside the home.  The condenser is then connected to the evaporator with a line set.  A line set is small bore copper tubing which we routed invisibly under the patio.

Split wine cooling systems a popular choice for wine enthusiasts and businesses looking for precise temperature control, reduced noise, flexibility in installation, and efficient operation within their wine cellars.

Leaving No Trace of Construction of Wine Cooling Unit in Beautiful California Home

Although we had to take up and replace the patio stones, as you will see in the video above, we were able to do this without any visible trace of the process.

Given the type of home we were working on, the finished look of both the wine room and the exterior of the home were very important.

Commercial Grade Refrigeration Unit, Hid from View

The evaporator was a commercial grade system, this has the benefit of being highly reliable, efficient and quiet. Although relatively small the evaporator is still a mechanical unit and therefore not exactly attractive!

Coastal, as part of their wine cellar design boxed in the unit with a louvered front using the same premium redwood as the racking.  This means the cooling system is pretty much invisible in the custom wine cellar.

The under stair wine storage room itself was insulated properly with a vapor barrier and a purpose built wine cellar door.  The correct type of door is a critical component to maintaining the room’s climate, along with the insulation.

Wine Cellar Construction and Refrigeration Installation Not DIY

As this video and information shows, installation of a wine cellar and it’s cooling system is not a do it yourself project. It involves real technical expertise, by experts in the California HVAC industry. It involves exceptional construction design and specific know-how in wine storage insulation.

Hiring someone with minimal understanding of wine cellars, even a licensed contractor, could get you into trouble. You could lose thousands of dollars when you have to repair severe damage to your home, replace your wine stock, and rebuild your wine cellar.
