Compact and Elegant Wine Cellar Design Build for a Corona, CA Home

If you are looking for a wine cellar company that can provide you with exquisite wine racking and cooling systems, look no further than Arctic Metal Works. We transformed a kitchen pantry into a custom wine cellar design build in Corona, CA, and the results were excellent! Our master designer, David Gype, created a beautiful wine cellar perfect for any home. The wine cellar features spray foam insulation with thermostat control to keep the wines at the perfect temperature. It also uses a split-type cooling system and a backup cooling unit for maintenance purposes. The Mahogany wood with rich walnut stain creates a stunning look on the wine racking, and the warm chandelier lighting completes the look perfectly.

The rope LED lighting design for the label forward racking builds a contrast to the warm lighting of the wine cellar.

Modern Wine Cellar Design Build in Corona, CA: The Construction Process

These wooden wine racks are a beautiful design mix built from Mahogany with rich walnut stain.

The task of constructing the wine cellar may seem daunting, but with careful planning and execution, the process of building the wine cellar design for this Corona, CA home was relatively smooth:

  1. Any existing drywall or insulation was removed from the room to insulate it properly.
  2. The room is drywalled, and the lighting and wine racks are installed.
  3. We insulated the entire space with spray foam insulation to ensure that the temperature in the room was adequately controlled.

The Corona, CA home wine cellar building process took approximately 45 days to complete the design.

To keep the wine at a consistent temperature, a ¼ horsepower wine cooling system is used. The team installed a split-type cooling system and backup cooling unit. David recommended the backup wine cooling system in case of any power outages or issues with the primary cooling system.

A surface mount type of lighting is used as it helps to keep the wine cellar airtight and sealed. Finally, the room is painted with a color of the client’s choosing that complements the warm lighting from the chandelier. Mahogany wood with a rich walnut stain is used for the wine racks, providing a luxurious look and feel. Overall, the entire team and the client are extremely pleased with how the wine cellar turned out. Proper designing and execution made building the Corona, CA wine cellar relatively quick and easy for the team.

How the Spray Foam Application Benefits this Kitchen Wine Cellar Design Build in Corona, CA

Arctic Metal Works is proud to offer our clients the benefits of spray foam insulation with many purposes that make it an ideal application for an optimal wine storage solution. This type of insulation is ideal for wine cellars because it provides an airtight seal that prevents outside air from entering the cellar and affecting the wine. In addition, spray foam insulation helps to control humidity levels, which is also critical for wine storage.

David Gype, the owner of Arctic Metal Works made sure that the owner’s expensive collection is stored with a well-built backup wine cellar cooling system design.

First, it creates a vapor barrier that helps to keep the room free of moisture. This can be especially helpful in preventing mold and microbial growth. Additionally, the spray foam helps to reduce noise levels. The dense nature of the foam helps to block out external noise. Finally, spray foam insulation is easy to apply and can fill any cracks or crevices that may be present, helping to protect the cellar from moisture intrusion. The team at Arctic Metal Works did an incredible job on this kitchen custom wine cellar, and the client could not be happier with the results.

Protecting the Wine Cellar From Heat and Moisture Intrusion

The wine cellar is a critical part of any home that requires regular checks and maintenance. Not only does it need to be large enough to store all of your wine, but it also needs to be correctly insulated to protect your collection. This wine cellar is located in the kitchen, next to the garage. This ensures that the cellar is not exposed to sunlight that may damage the wines. The walls of the cellar are lined with thicker spray foam insulation to give a higher R-value. This will help to keep the cellar at a consistent temperature, even if the outside temperature fluctuates.

A surface mount lighting system is a type of lighting fixture mounted on the ceiling or walls. These lighting systems help in protecting the wine bottles from moisture intrusion. It keeps the wine cellar airtight and sealed as there’s no need to drill holes in the walls or ceiling, which a spray foam application can’t seal. A completely sealed wine cellar creates a controlled environment suitable for aging wines.

Choosing the correct refrigeration system design is a key component of building a wine cellar. This is the air handler for the split-type cooling system that was placed outside the house

Modern Wooden Wine Racking with Exquisite Rope Lighting

This custom wine cellar design build in Corona, CA is made with a premium mahogany wine racking system with a deep and rich walnut stain. The bottom row of the racking system is designed with a label forward display, illuminated by LED rope lighting to show off the bottles to their best advantage. The chandelier above provides warm accent lighting, completing the inviting ambiance of the room. The client carefully chose the paint for the wine cellar, opting for a gold hue that adds an air of dignified luxuriousness, befitting such a valuable collection. Indeed, the entire red wine collection is worth more or less $80000 – testimony to the client’s discerning taste.

A Split-Type Cooling Unit with a Backup System

A split-type cooling unit is an excellent choice for this small kitchen wine cellar. According to David’s heat load calculation, the BTE rating determined that a 1/4 horsepower cooling unit would be sufficient. But what happens when the primary cooling unit breaks down or needs maintenance? You don’t want your wine to spoil, so it’s paramount to have a backup system in place.

That’s where the backup cooling system comes in. We used a ¼ horsepower wine cooling system as the primary unit and have a backup system ready to go in an emergency. Fortunately, the client has enough space where the team installed the backup cooling unit. In addition, a backup refrigeration system will provide peace of mind for the client, knowing that their valuable collection is protected 24/7.
